Marshall’s Life Story Marshall Gilbert Scarborough, Sr., son of the late Robert Scarborough and Hattie Beatrice Douglas, was called home on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at his home in Pocomoke City, Maryland after a short illness. Marshall, Eurp, Scarborough, Pops, or Pop-Pop as he was affectionately called, was born on April 22, 1939 in Accomack County, Virginia, where he was also educated. At an early age, he attended Ebenezer Baptist Church in Wardtown, Virginia. Marshall found his true love, Catherine Douglas, and they united as one on September 7, 1963. From this union, two children were born. He was employed at Buddy Boys in Snow Hill, Maryland, Showell Poultry Farms in Showell, Maryland, Golden Pride in Stockton, Maryland, Sunoco Gas in Pocomoke City, Maryland, Mrs. Paul Kitchen in Crisfield, Maryland and Perdue Farms, Accomack, Virginia, retiring after forty-two (42) years. Marshall was a caring husband, uncle, grandfather, cousin and friend and was loved by everyone who came in contact with him. He enjoyed helping others, whether it be family of friends. He enjoyed going to Yard Sales on Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting. He would drive South on Route 13 to the Flea Market in Temperanceville, Virginia. He would also head North on Route 13 to the Flea Market in Laurel, Delaware, where he would love making different stops along the way. His passion was cleaning his vehicles, especially the 1984 Ford Pickup known as “OLD BLUE.” Other pastimes included finding him laid back watching Old Western Shows or enjoying spending time with the kids and attending family events. He leaves to mourn: his wife of sixty-two (62) years, Catherine Scarborough Pocomoke City, MD; two sons, Brian Scarborough (Tonya) of Snow Hill, MD and Marshall Scarborough, Jr. (Janel) of New Castle, DE; one stepson, Kevin Douglas (Beverly) of Snow Hill, MD; one daughter, Regina Scarborough of Pocomoke City, MD; four granddaughters, Courtney Scarborough, Briana Scarborough, Eugina Scarborough-Holden (George) and Sheena Ewell; three grandsons, Marshall Scarborough III (Kishawna), Deontrae Scarborough, Sr. and Vernon Scarborough; nineteen (19) great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in law, Brenda Douglas-Husdon (Doug) and Loretta Walker (Clark); two brothers-in-law, Larry Douglas and George Douglas, and a host of cousins, many other relatives and best friend, Sylvester Parker. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, mother-in-law, Elise Douglas, father-in-law, John Douglas and his son, Anthony Scarborough.
