Dorothy Elizabeth Wilson

Dorothy Elizabeth Wilson earned her wings and went from labor to reward on May 13, 2026 at the age of 93 years old. Dorothy was one of 14 children born to the late Woodson and Florence Freeman in Melitota, MD. She married the late Walter Wilson of Butlertown, MD. Dorothy worked at Vita Foods un􀆟l they closed their doors. She then worked at Campbell Soup un􀆟l her re􀆟rement. Dorothy came to know the Lord at an early age. She was active in Sunday School and sang with the youth choir at Mt. Pisgah in Melitota, MD. She and her sisters sang with the Jr. Echoes live on Sundays at a radio sta􀆟on in Annapolis, MD under the direc􀆟on of her aunt, Beatrice Mason. In her early adult years, she became a member of Mt. Olive in Butlertown, MD, where she faithfully attended services. She always looked forward to her Pastor’s sermons and listening to the choir. Dorothy served on the Steward Board. She was the Lead Stewardess, helping to dress the altar and prepare the sacraments for communion. She was also a member of the Missionary Society. One of her last missionary works was working with the Food Bank Give Away Program under Rev. Isaac Wilson, III. Dorothy loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed family cook-outs, holiday gatherings, making white potato pies and picking and eating blue crabs. Dorothy also had a love of traveling. She traveled with her family, friends and church members. One of her favorite trips was a cruise that she took for her 80th birthday with two of her daughters. She also enjoyed watching wrestling, soaps and game shows on TV. She enjoyed and looked forward to her weekly exercise class, up until her illness. Dorothy was preceded in death by: her husband, Walter Wilson; her parents, Woodson and Florence Freeman; loving grandparents; 12 siblings, Howard Freeman, Charles Freeman, Lillian Freeman, Woodson Freeman, Jr., Melvin Freeman, Sr., George Freeman, Florence (Freeman) Briscoe, Beatrice Freeman, Norman Freeman, Oakley Freeman, Ellen (Freeman) Lively and Andrew Freeman, and a very special friend, Howard Pots. Left to cherish her memory are: 5 daughters, Phyllis Harris of Quaker Neck, MD, Sharon Steward (Delvin) of Chestertown, MD, Patricia Webb (Frank) of Orlando, FL, Brenda Wilson of Silver Spring, MD and Beverly (Laverne) O’Sullivan (Christopher) of Melbourne FL; 1 son, Richard Freeman, Sr. of Melitota, MD and 2 stepsons, Keith Wilson (Myra) of Bal􀆟more, MD, and Reginald (Jamie) Wilson; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Simon Freeman of Wilmington, DE; 3 sisters-in-law, Zena Freeman of NY, Irene Moore of Georgetown and Delores Freeman-Clybourne of Chester, PA; 1 brother-in-law, Herbert Briscoe of Georgetown, MD, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.
