Virginia received her education in the public schools of Accomack County, VA. At an early age, she was saved, baptized and joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Harborton, VA. Virginia loved the Lord and always gave him praise.
Virginia met and married the late John Drummond on June 12, 1943 , and from that union they had seven children. In 1948, they moved to Delaware, where she was a housewife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to whomever she came in contact with. Virginia was loved by many. Virginia can be remembered for a lot of good and great things, but the family will always remember her for her fried chicken, hot biscuits, and chicken and dumplings. She loved to cook. Mom Ginny loved her family and she had a loving heart. She often took to many that she met.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Fred (Rosa) Drummond of New Castle, DE and Kenny (Faith) Drummond of Frankford, DE; three daughters, Neviles Fisher, Delores Drummond and Belinda Drummond, all of Frankford, DE; four nieces, Ruby (Charles) Garrison of Frankford, DE; Viola (Ben) Fields of Philadelphia, PA; Bonnie Doughty of Pittsville, MD; and Lesa (Tyrone) Hughey of Salisbury, MD; two nephews, Ben Sample of Philadelphia, PA and Thurman Doughty of Selbyville, DE whom she raised as her own children; one brother-in-law, seven sisters-in-law, eighteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also leaves a very special person, Gregory Andrews, who loved her as his mother and stayed by her bedside until the end.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, one grandson, and two nephews she raised as her own Raymond Sample and Gene Doughty.
