Obituary:
Amos Lee Gibbs, Jr. departed this life on December 25, 2009 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Delaware. He was the first child born to the late Amos Lee Gibbs, Sr., and Margaret Gibbs Wooten on February 26, 1951 in Vanceburg, North Carolina.

Amos received his formal education in the public schools of Sussex County, Delaware. He was employed for 30 years with the Delaware Department of Transportation until his retirement in 2003.

Amos had a kind, loving and thankful spirit. He loved working on his automobiles, small engines, and watching those “Dallas Cowboys”.

He leaves to cherish loving memories, his wife, Athena Gibbs, his mother, Margaret Gibbs Wooten; father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Mamie Smith, father-in-law, James F. Greene, six children, Kelien Gibbs of PA; Damiyon Gibbs of NJ; Keisha Burton of DE; Andre Simmons, Sr. of MD; Sayleen Clickscales of MD; and Clifford Paynter of DE; one sister, Annette Gibbs of DE; four brothers, Columbus Wooten, Elder Olten Wooten (Shirley), Elder John Wooten (Pourtla) of NC; and Daryl Gibbs of PA; five brothers-in-law, Denny Pressley, Wolten Green, Tyrone Drummond, Sr., John Chase, and Donald Tate, Sr; four grandchildren, Deoja Burton, Rayshawn Burton, Andre Simmons, Jr., and Jasmine Clickscales; four uncles, Pell Gibbs, Elisha Gibbs, Lewis Roundtree of NC, and James W. Gibbs of DE; seven aunts, Norma Gibbs of DE, Bell Barrow, Sue Adams, Alice Roundtree, Lucille Williams, Mamie Wooten, and Nell Gibbs, all of NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family, and friends.

He is preceded in death by three sisters
