Sarah Blanche Elizabeth Wilson, daughter of the late James and Sarah Blanche Wilson, was born in Oxford, Maryland on September 12, 1926. She departed this life December 11, 2009 at Meridian Nursing Home (The Pines), Easton, MD at the age of 83.
Sarah received her education in the public schools of Talbot County. In her early years, she was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, located on Oxford Road in a little community called Screamerville. Later, she met and married the late John Robert Kellum, Sr. and from this union four children were born. For many years, she was employed as a housekeeper under Mrs. Talley. After her retirement, she later joined her daughter Angela, a service member of the United States Air Force and traveled all around the world for 13 years.
Five sisters and two brothers preceded her in death: Edna Wilson, Margaret Banks, Viola Shelton, Henrietta Wilson, Oneida Wilson, James Wilson, Jr. and Robert Wilson.
She is survived by two sons, John (Gloria) Kellum, Jr. of Cordova, MD; Paul (Earlene) Kellum of Joppa, MD; two daughters, Sharon Kellum of Cambridge, MD; Angela Kellum of Arlington, TX; two sisters, Mary Geneva Pritchett of Easton, MD, Helen Dolores (Walter) Chase of Trappe, MD; one brother, Lester Lee (Rebecca) Wilson of Oxford, MD; five grandchildren, deceased Robert Andre’ Kellum, Paul Kellum, Jr., Margo Kellum, Vernon (Andrea) Freeman, Jr., Aaron Gant, King Arkadie; four great-grandchildren, Jada Kellum, Jalen Kellum, Amaya Gant, Vernon Freeman, III and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
