Areather Pierce departed this life on November 27, 2009 in Seaford, DE after a long illness, She was 56 years old. Areather was born on the eighteenth day of May 1953 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Clarence Pierce and Madeline Fuller.
Areather was one of five children, and had one brother, Michael, who preceded her in death.
Areather attended Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, New York where she majored in Art. She moved to Delaware in 1985 and started working for DuPont Company until 2004. Areather enjoyed painting, playing cards, and music.
Areather leaves to cherish her memories three surviving siblings Ann Jones Coleman of Seaford, DE; Roy Pierce of Brooklyn, NY; and Wayne & Yvette Pierce of Brooklyn, NY; two sons, Hassan (Michele) Imhopet of San Bernanos, CA and Louis Pierce of Seaford, DE; two grandchildren, Ottoba and Naikie Imhopet. Areather is also survived by four nephews, Todd Coleman, Infinity West, Hakim Pierce and Rashaad Pierce; four nieces, Sirdora Coleman, Tanya Jones, Dona'e Jones, Torin Pierce, and a host of cousins, friends, and her oldest and dearest friend, Viola Walker. She was blessed to be survived by a great-nephew Qy'Mere Jones.
Her smile was outstanding and laughter so joyous, Areather was welcomed by many! To know her was to love her.
