Herbert (Mickey) Junior Brown, of Rock Hall Road, Rock Hall, MD passed away in Rock Hall, Maryland on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Mickey was born in Centreville, Maryland on September 13, 1946, the older of two children born to the late Grace Elizabeth Brown and Roland Harris.
He was reared in Centreville, Maryland and attended Grasonville Elementary School and then graduated Kennard High School in Centreville, Maryland. He went on to serve in the United States Army. He lived in Centreville until 1969 when he moved to Boston, Massachusetts. While living in Boston, he had been employed by Eastern Airlines and attended Charles Street AME Church, Roxbury, Massachusetts. In 1997, he moved to Rock Hall with his wife Rowena, where he was employed by United Airlines. He retired from United Airlines and began his own lawn care maintenance company. He immediately became an active member of Aaron Chapel United Methodist Church. He was an usher, an active member of the Neighborhood Improvement Association and the local chapter of the NAACP.
Mickey was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Rowena Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, one daughter, Travillia Shanetta Brown-Donovan of Canton, GA, two sons Darryn Leander Brown of Boston, Massachusetts and SGT Brian LaVante Brown active duty US Army stationed at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany; two grandsons, Maurice Brown and Treyvone Brown; two granddaughters, Tabitha Brown and Ayanna Donovan; one sister Grace Harris; a niece Yolanda Harris and a nephew, Tyrone Harris; great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
