Life Story for JaQuan Griffin
Ja’Quan Marquise Griffin, a twenty-one (21) year old gift from God, was born on the 27th day of November, 1995. He was the beloved son of Jennifer Joynes and Tommy Griffin, both of Salisbury, Maryland.
On Sunday, July 9, 2017, “Griff” as he was affectionately known, transitioned from labor to reward. “Griff” attended the public schools of Wicomico County and received spiritual guidance at an early age alongside his mother at Victory and Praise Worship Center.
His charming smile was what he was affectionately known for when seeing him around. In his spare time, “Griff” liked to play basketball, ride dirt bikes and motorcycles. Video games and dancing were his passion.
In addition to his parents, he leaves fond memories with: his stepfather, Delinza “DJ” Joynes of Las Vegas, Nevada; his stepmother, Ana Griffin of Salisbury, Maryland; six (6) siblings, Jamar Davis and Robyn Joynes, both of Salisbury, Maryland; Xonjenese (Keith) Jacobs of Land O’ Lakes, Florida; Joseph “Joey” Griffin of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and Shakia (Tarrell) Carter and Jordan Griffin, all of Ellicott City, Maryland; two (2) nieces; five (5) nephews; a devoted aunt, Kisha Gattis of Salisbury, Maryland; a grandfather, Oscar Wright of Salisbury, Maryland; a paternal grandmother, Penelope “Penny” Duncan of Delmar, Delaware; spiritual god parents, Apostle Edward and Crystal Moss of Salisbury, Maryland; two (2) who were like brothers, Jermaine and Jermel Moss both of Salisbury, Maryland and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Corrine Wright and Jessie Handy; maternal great-grandparents, Hampton and Caroline Kellam; paternal grandfather, Thomas Mitchell and uncle, Kevin Bratten, Sr.
