Life Story for Marva Bowen
Reverend Marva Elaine Bowen, 58 was born November 8, 1958 in Pompano Beach, FL to Frankie West-Spells and Ernest Dailey. She was later adopted by James & E. Ida West, who raised her as their own. She departed this life peacefully in her home on July 9, 2017.
Elaine as she was known to everyone, received her formal education in the Wicomico Country Public Schools, graduating from Wicomico Senior High in 1978. She was employed by Berlin Nursing Home, Owner of Bowen’s Day Care and custodian at Stephen Decatur High all in Berlin, MD. Elaine was wed in holy matrimony to Fontaine Bowen, 35 years ago. Her Christian training had its roots at United Church of First Born. After moving to Berlin, she became a member of Tyree AME Church, she was eventually ordained as a reverend under Pastor Dr. Henry Brown. Many will remember Elaine for her sweet spirit, love of gospel music, love of flowers and her soft spoken words.

Betty Mitchell, Mary (Curtis) Dixon, both of Salisbury, MD, Gale Dunning, JoAnn Seymour, Corrine Seymour, Pamela West; of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brothers, George J. Seymour, George T. Seymour, all of Ft. Lauderdale, Virginia Beach, FL and George Seymour, Jr. of St. Louis MI. 1 uncle; James West, VA,1 aunt; Winnie Jones, DE; mother-in-law, Queen (Robert) Leonard, Bishopville, MD; 2 brothers-in-laws, Earnest (Vanessa) Satchell, Salisbury, MD and Kaleel Satchell, Berlin, MD; 1 sister-in-law, Chiffon (Charles) Collins, Berlin
She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Able West, with many other relatives & in-laws.
