Obituary for Cynthia Duker
Cynthia V. Duker of both Elizabeth City, North Carolina and Dover, Delaware, gained her eternal wings on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Milford Delaware.
Known as “Cyndi” or “Mint” to close friends and family, Cynthia was a Correctional Counselor with the State of Delaware and Pasquotank Correctional Institute until she retired. She was known personally and professionally for having a good ear to listen to people’s problems, an uplifting disposition, and a willingness to help anyone who needed it.
Cynthia’s most fulfilling job was that of being a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother. She leaves behind two children, Michael Duker and Terri Carney; four grandchildren, Maia Rinehart, Malcolm Carney, Marcus Carney and Mizan Walker; as well as two loving brothers, Gary Clark and James Clark Jr.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Cynthia also considered herself blessed to have Herma Scott, Sandra Bowe, Iris King and Dot Wilson as kindred spirits and best friends in life, who were always there when needed. Cynthia will be loved and missed by all mentioned, until such time as we see one another again.
A “Celebration of Life” service will take place Saturday June 17, 2017 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church, 518 Church Ave. in Milford De. Family and friends may come to call beginning at 10:00 am and services will begin at 11:00.
