Life Story for Patricia Gray

Patricia Gray
Patricia Lee Gray was born on June 11, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Gray. Patsy, Patty-Pat, as she was better known, departed this life on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the age of eighty-one (81).

Patsy worked as a crew leader/scheduler at Campbell Soup Company for 38.5 years. As a second career, she was a Licensed Hairdresser.

Since the late 1960’s/early 1970’s, Patricia maintained membership at St. James A.U.M.P. Church, now known as St. James Free Methodist Church, “She Loved The Lord”. Patricia was an Honorary Usher and she sang with the Zionettes singing group. One of her passions was the Annual Tea / Rainbow Pageant, which she chaired for more than 26 years. Lord knows we will never forget how she represented “The Color Blue”, very well. Patricia also chaired the candy drive, Fish Fry and other fund raising activities. Supporting her church and attending Bible Study on Wednesdays was very important to her.
Patsy was known for her yeast rolls, fried chicken, sweet potato pies and more. She loved to cook for her family. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, shopping, and more shopping! Pretty clothes and pretty cars were her passions!
She loved her family, Nuk-Nuk, Boo-Boo, Junebug and Buddy. Although she would “Lay Them Out” on a regular basis. (She could do it, But You Could NOT—smile).
Patsy leaves to mourn: four children, Allen Dorman, Donzelle Dorman, George (Michelle) Conway and Dorge (Trudy) Conway all of Salisbury, Maryland; twenty grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister; Charlotte Hicks of Churchton, Maryland and a host of nieces and nephews. There was an unbreakable bond between her and her first born grandchild. Terrelle Goslee-Adams (Aaron) of Fayetteville, NC. From birth to an early age Terrelle (and her mom) lived with Mommom Patsy. Naturally, rotten to the core, she admired her grandmother. So much that she wanted to become a cosmetologist just like her. Terrelle also gained the same passion for travel, cooking, shopping, jewelry, pretty clothes and cars just like Mommom Patsy.

Patsy was preceded in death by one sister, Roberta Thompson.
